U.S. Air Force. JOB SUMMARY: The Detention Officer is responsible to
ensure the safety and security of detainees in custody, acting in
accordance with the highest ethical standards at all times, and ensuring
a spirit of fairness and integrity in the on-going execution of their
duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Performs duties related to the
detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of
detainees as required in the contract · Exercises surveillance and
control over detainees, and maintains order and discipline; · Attends to
housing, feeding, and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a
day. · Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility ·
Provides care, custody and control of detainees · Removes detainees from
holding areas using proper restraints and security measures; · Guards
detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while
receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned · Performs
all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies
and procedures · Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and
adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and
monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety
Policies · Perform other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIES: · Able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must
concisely and accurately write narratives of incidents and prepare
written reports · Ability to pass and maintain the medical and physical
testing requirements and standards · Exercises judgment and uses
discretion in dealing with first response to any and all situations.
Following required training, incumbent must demonstrate proficiency in
methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees · Incumbent
must maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with firearms

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * Speak, read, write, and understand English *
Must maintain physical fitness standards and must be able to pass and
maintain required physical testing requirements and standards which
includes: * Must be able to lift heavy object up to 50lbs frequently and
up to 70lbs occasionally * Must be able to push a wheel chair bound
individual weighing up to 300 lbs and helping individual in and out of
chair * Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twisting, reaching
overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodically * Must be
able to pass a medical examination and meet health requirements * Must
be able to stand and walk for long periods of time minimum 4 hours *
Must be at least 21 years of age and a US citizen or a person lawfully
admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided
in the U.S. for the last five years * Must possess a high school diploma
or equivalent (GED) * Must have the ability to pass a criminal
background and consumer credit check (no criminal record) to obtain and
maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance * Must be able to pass all
pre-employment and random drug tests * Must be able to pass a medical
examination and meet health requirements * Must possess a valid state
driver's license or CDL * You must possess or ability to obtain a state
security guard license (D) from the State of Florida * Maintain
current/physical residency in the continental United States
Experience: ** ** One year of Military, Security, Law Enforcement,
or Corrections experience demonstrating the following: * Ability to
greet and deal tactfully and professionally with the general public *
Must be willing to work shift hours to include, evening, nights,
weekends and holidays * Must attend and pass defensive tactics training
