The Henriksen Jet Center at Austin Executive Airport (KEDC) in Pflugerville, Texas is currently hiring flight line technicians for second and third shifts. Shifts are Second Shift (2 pm- 10 pm) and 3.) Third Shift (8 pm to 6 am). The Third Shift is a 4-10 hour position and has 3 days off every week (including one weekend day). The second shift works 40 hours per week with two days off during the week. Weekend work is required -days off will be during the week. Summary: The Flight Line Technician (FLT) is a customer service/technical position that is responsible for supporting all ground operations for inbound and outbound aircraft, flight crews and passengers. FLTs require the following: good decision-making skills, the ability to follow company procedures; flexibility in a dynamic working environment; as well as possess good interpersonal skills. Your safety is important to us. FLTs work with fuels and other flammable and hazardous materials. As such, proper procedures must be followed. The airport area is a high noise environment so use of proper protection equipment is required. Operating vehicles and moving aircraft in close proximity of people, buildings and other aircraft require extreme caution. Procedures must be followed for your personal safety as well as the safety of others and protection of company and customer property. Duties: * Fuel aircraft in accordance with NATA PSLT and Phillips fuel quality control standards * Tow and marshal aircraft * Insure aircraft are chocked and secure * Aircraft lavatory and potable water service * Load/unload baggage * Assist pilots with aircraft pre and post flight services * Top off fuel trucks and fill out proper fuel farm paperwork * Operate ground support equipment * Assist other departments as required including grounds, maintenance and airport administration as needed. * Facility cleaning, crew car cleaning and other tasks as assigned * Provide basic security to people and property * Direct people, drivers and flight crews on ramp area * Other duties and tasks as required Requirements: * Must have and maintain a valid TEXAS Drivers License- please do NOT apply if this is NOT CURRENT OR VALID * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. * Pass Drug and Alcohol testing, background checks and submit to random testing when required. * Complete NATA Safety First and other job related training within 6 months of employment. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, direct interface, over telephone and in writing * Ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement in a safe, efficient manner * Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others * Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning, vehicle washing, aircraft cleaning and vacuuming * Ability to work without direct management supervision * Must be comfortable with working outdoors, day, night and in all weather conditions * Must be available to work flexible hours, including holidays, mornings, nights, and weekends as scheduled * Prior experience in towing, forklift or heavy equipment operation is a plus. Physical Requirements: * Stepping up/down on ladders, tugs and fuel trucks * Lift baggage from ground level to waist and overhead while loading aircraft, up to 75lbs * Bending and stooping to pick up tow bars and other equipment, up to 75 lbs * Stooping below wings to chock aircraft * Standing and walking for extended periods of time, running when required * Good hand-eye coordination with good peripheral vision Benefits: Benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, and more options to full-time positions.
