    The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

    CSIS is seeking an Associate Director of Congressional and Government Affairs to help execute the Center’s bipartisan outreach efforts. This position will be responsible for managing a Program Coordinator and will execute the team’s event management, internal and external outreach, and strategic goals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Organizing public events, dinner discussions, briefings, and meetings on the Hill and at CSIS. Leading briefings as needed • Liaising with CSIS programs on event details and providing guidance on upcoming events. Identifying opportunities for new initiatives within the Center • Assist the Director in managing the Congressional Affairs Program Coordinator • Track program budget on Adaptive and monitoring pipelines • Directing Congressional Foresight Initiative activities, grant, and fellowship • Maintaining and strengthening the CSIS network on Capitol Hill. Responding to inquiries from interested staffers

     

    KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, government, or public policy is required; • Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred; • Event planning and logistics experience is required; • Ability to work closely with a range of individuals with diverse interests, backgrounds, dispositions, and executive levels is essential; • Strong attention to detail, professionalism and leadership skills are essential; • Capability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential
