Software Engineer (Analytics) -Job IDreq11119 Address14900 Charlson Rd, Eden Prairie, MN, United States, 55347 We are looking to hire someone with both analytics and development skills. This position will involve designing and developing datasets, databases and services that will standardize data for several areas of the business. Success for this role will be defined as someone who can work with stakeholders to define requirements, design solutions with architecture, work through proof of concepts, and implement solutions. The newly formed Domain Analytics and Services Team is charged with using data to build accessible and scalable domains of subject matter expertise. C.H. Robinson has 100s of terabytes of data and years of building analytical insights. The team mandate is twofold: integrate existing analytics solutions into a service oriented architecture and work with Data Science to build out new analytics which pushes the limits of our systems. Responsibilities: -Gathers and solicits business requirements. -Works with Architecture to design technology solutions for complex scenarios that may influence architectural implementations of technology and business process, taking in to account performance and availability. -Creates, designs, and maintains datasets as well as exposes them for analysis and consumption by analysts, services and applications. -Participates in the development of enterprise services to be used by multiple teams/applications. -Utilizes advanced source control features and provides input on strategy for the team. Qualifications: -Proven track record of soliciting business requirements and delivering solutions. -Strong collaboration and verbal communication skills. -Passion for using technology and data to solve business problems. -Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision. -Some core characteristics include being adaptable, innovative, empathetic, goal setting, and business oriented -Ability to provide honest feedback to business stakeholders, peers, and management. -2 years of experience leveraging ETL tools to load a data warehouse or create a data store. -2 years of experience with nosql big data technologies. -Experience developing Restful APIs. -Skilled with Git and GitHub or comparable distributed version control system. -Experience with Microsoft SQL Server. -Practical Experience with test driven development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Education: -Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience. -Coding Bootcamp graduates also considered with equivalent experience.
