Our Opportunity: Chewy is hiring a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to oversee and own the first interface between human resources and the payroll department in our Phoenix, AZ fulfillment center. The ideal candidate must have a strong customer service orientation, be detail oriented and understand the importance of payroll, employee benefits programs including health and welfare, 401k and compliance programs. Compliance programs include federal, state and local taxes. In addition you will be responsible for auditing all new hire inputs into our Kronos HRIS system and the integrity of the data interface between the HRIS system and the ADP Payroll system. What you'll you do: * Processes bi-weekly payroll for approximately 800 employees (exempt and non-exempt) via ADP Workforce Now payroll software * Updates or processes payroll records by entering, terminations, changes in job title, benefits, compensation, department transfers, etc. * Reviews entries and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll before handing all payroll records over to the Payroll Manager for processing * Ability to calculate special payroll checks routinely and/or on demand (i.e., termination pay, etc.) * Ability to process or research wage garnishments * Responsible for ensuring all benefit plans are administered correctly and efficiently, while adhering to regulatory, collective agreement and deadlines. * Audit benefit deductions and remittances. * Administers employee leaves of absences including FMLA and short-term disability * Maintain records of leave pay and nontaxable wages. * Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential What you'll need: * Bachelor's Degree Preferred or minimum of 2 years Payroll/Benefits experience * Knowledge of federal, state, local and labor taxes/laws * ADP Workforce Now, Kronos Time and Attendance experience is required * Proficient with the Microsoft Office, especially Excel * Accurate and detail oriented * Excellent problem solving skills * Strong oral and written communication skills * Exceptional customer service talents (internal and external) * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with changing priorities * Self-motivated, positive attitude, flexible outlook, and strong ethical values * Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive and personal information * Ensure the accuracy of payroll, including but not limited to: base pay, retro, bonuses, commissions, payroll taxes, 401K, benefits, garnishments and other deductions. * Compile reports on payroll, personnel information, deductions, research, produce special reports and ad-hoc payroll reports. * Partner with Finance and Human Resources in ensuring all payroll activities are processed timely and accurately. * Experience processing medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability plans * Performs additional duties as assigned Chewy - 5 hours ago - save job - original job Apply Now Apply Now Save this job
