    About the IS Operational Experience Portfolio:

    Our software business systems are built to provide efficiency and functionality to our branch offices and warehouses, allowing Expeditors to provide outstanding customer service and competitive rates. Our internal and external systems are an integrated suite of collaborative supply chain software applications that are designed to assist our operations teams and customers in managing international and domestic shipping challenges.

    The document management team focuses on building and sustaining the digital creation, storage, and movement of documents related to shipments, supply chain, customs, and accounting.

    Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing GitLab/GitHub runners/actions and Ansible playbooks in a distributed environment to standardize and automate our business application team's build, test, and deploy pipelines.

You work well in a team environment and know how to work with your colleagues to bring out their best. As part of our team you will contribute to continuous improvement, demonstrating DevOps-in-practice, and collaborating across multiple teams.

    What you will be doing:

    • Playing a key role on a collaborative agile development team, responsible for the design and production of mission critical, enterprise-scale applications
    • Translating requirements into system design specifications and the implementation of systems throughout the entire software development life cycle
    • Developing a thorough understanding of the logistics business domain
    • Maintaining an awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a whole
    • Influence the design and technical direction of the team and its systems

    This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
    • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
    • GitLab/GitHub, Ansible automation experience
    • Skills in debugging system-level issues in either Unix or Linux
    • Ability to formulate a design strategy from a mix of business requirements, concept documents, and verbal descriptions
    • Experience with DevOps / Infrastructure as Code
    • Experience with monitoring frameworks, like Prometheus/Grafana or ELK stack
    • Experience with database technologies, ideally DB2 and Postgres
    • SQL skills

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Java Experience
    • Ant Experience
    • Jenkins Experience
    • Understanding of automation deployment processes and techniques
    • Understanding of test automation and continuous delivery principles
    • Experience with Containers (like Docker) and Cloud technologies
    • Ability to train, mentor, and share knowledge in both individual and group

    Additional Information

    Expected base salary: $100,000 to $145,000

    May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position
