Part-time Duties Summary The Area of Consideration for this vacancy

are located at Selfridge ANG Base at the Bryant Child Development

disqualified. Responsibilities Entry and Skill Levels are developmental
levels that progress to the Target, which is full level performance.
Will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more
of the CYS programs. Maintain control of and account for whereabouts and
safety of all children and youth in the programs. Reviews, provides
input to , and implements schedules and activity plans for the programs
you work with. Interacts with children and youth using approved child
guidance and youth development techniques. Interacts professionally with
staff members , parents, and local installation command personnel.
Participates in conferences with parents and staff. Briefs other
employees and parents. Supervises children and youth during daily
schedule of indoor an outdoor activities and on field trip, outings and
special events. Promotes and models safety, fitness, health and
nutrition practices. Cares for special needs children and youth as
directed by the supervisor. Notifies supervisor of health, fire, and
safety compliance concerns. s arrange for and serve appropriate snacks
or meals where applicable. Inventories equipment on a recurring basis
and recommends replenishing damaged, missing and depleted supplies.
Secures supplies equipment, and facilities. Collects, maintains and
reports program participation data. Performs other duties as assigned.

maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk,
bend, stoop, and stand on a routing basis. * Incumbent is legally
required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect. *
Individuals who have been trained will be required to administer routine
and rescue medications prescriped by a physician to children/youth,
perform CPR and first aid, and provide a reasonable accommodation to
children/youth with a special need. * Travel to on and off post
locations may be required. Schedule may include irregular hours,
evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working both indoors and
outdoors. * Successful completion of prescribed training (transition
and/or annual) is required. Failure to achieve desired training with
demonstrated competence may result in separation. Qualifications ENTRY
LEVEL: Candidate MUST: Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in
writing. SKILL LEVEL: In addition to above, Candidate MUST: Have three
months of experience working in a group program with children or youth,
plus Army or other military service Entry Level Training as evidenced by
service-issued Certificate of Completion, OR Six months of experience
working in a group program with children or youth, plus nine (9)
semester hours of college credit with course content directly related to
the age group to which assigned, for example: Child Development Centers:
Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education,
Special Education. School Age: Elementary Education, Child Development,
Youth Development, Special Education, Youth Services: Youth Development,
Secondary Education, Human Development, Youth Program Administration,
Recreation, Physical Education, or directly -related behavioral or
cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology,
sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General
psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying). One year vocational
certificate in child care or equivalent to other child/youth programs
meets the intent of the education requirement. TARGET LEVEL: In
additional to the above, Candidate MUST: Possess 18 months of experience
working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other
military service Foundation Level Training as evidenced by
service-issued Certificate of Completion, OR Eighteen months of
experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an
associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of college credit which
included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content
directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example: Child
Development Centers: Early Childhood Education/Child Development,
Elementary Education, Special Education. School Age: Elementary
Education, Child Development, Youth Development, Special Education,
Youth Services: Youth Development, Secondary Education, Human
Development, Youth Program Administration, Recreation, Physical
Education, or directly -related behavioral or cultural science
(developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the
family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology
coursework is not qualifying). OR one of the following: A bachelor's
degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of
study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above. Possess and
maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the
position to which assigned: Child Development Associate (CDA)
Credential, Military School Ge Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or
other nationally recognized Youth Development credential. Education As
required in the Qualifications section above for each level. MUST
include transcripts to document the education requirements. If you do
not include transcripts, you will be rated ineligible. Additional
