    JOB TITLE: Event Planning Intern, Work-Study

     

    DEPARTMENT: Center for Career and Technical Education/Boot Up Camp

     

    PAY RATE: $11.25 per hour 

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 1

     

    Spring Semester 2019

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    This intern will support the team in all aspects of event planning and programming.

     

    • Collecting contact information; • Administration of ticket selling and distribution; • Organizing & Managing CRM database development and entries; • Coordinating outreach and follow up with event participants, vendors and media contacts, • Assisting with on the ground event operations, • Working closely with the Marketing team on marketing materials, • Assisting with venue and speaker research; • Helping with logistics and setting up of events. • Handling attendee intake. • Prepping the audience for events; • Sending out invitations to leads; • Securing speakers, food vendors/caterers, locations, and workspace sites • Menu planning; • Sponsorship development.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    •  Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.
    • Past experience with creating or organizing events preferred.

     

    TIME COMMITMENT

     

    Up to 20 hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • High School graduate or Equivalent with courses in typing, filing, office methods and business English
    • Ability to read, speaks, write, and understand the English language fluently
    • Knowledge of utilizing various Microsoft programs, database management for monitoring, and graphics software for designing audio-visual training aides as required. A qualified typist is required
    • Working knowledge of the Composite Healthcare System (CHCS)
    • Skill in operating computer terminals, scanners, copiers, printers, fax machines, and email in a work processing/data transcription mode
    • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formats
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Thorough knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act restrictions as they relate to medical records and documents for military service family members
