At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. - Job Summary The Audit Services Data Analytics Internship is a 2 3 year development opportunity. The intent of the internship is to support the development and use of analytic solutions in support of audit initiatives by working full time during the summer and part time (number of hours and schedule will be determined based on the students school schedule) during the school year. The intern will gain real world work experience, exposure to various business areas and leadership, and learn how to: - Work collaboratively with audit teams to discuss the audit scope and how data analytics can be leveraged to ensure testing is conducted in the most efficient and effective manner. - Assist in analyzing and recommending data collection process improvements. - Participate and assist in the performance of internal audit activities by examining and evaluating information and internal controls in assigned functional areas. - Ensure the integrity and security of data used during all assigned activities. - Other duties include: - Working closely with audit team members to collect information about data analysis needs and approaches - Assisting in the development and implementation of automated solutions to support internal audit projects (using Excel, ACL, SQL, Alteryx, Access, etc.) - Preparing documentation for the scripts used for internal reporting, documenting the process for consolidating eGRC SNAP reports, and identifying and documenting the script changes needed when transitioning to a new year. - Researching and identifying new and emerging data analytics trends in the audit profession - Assisting in planning audits by obtaining background information - Preparing audit work papers to document audit work and support findings - Preparing draft versions of findings and recommendations for review and inclusion in audit reports Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience - 0 - 2 years of experience in auditing, business or data analytics, or related field. - Knowledge of accounting, auditing standards, and data analytics preferred. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to exercise a significant amount of discretion in performance of duties - Proficient personal computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) - Data analytics or query language knowledge a plus - 3.0 Cumulative GPA is required Education Requirements - As of Fall 2018, the candidate must be currently enrolled in a two-year college with the specific intention of furthering their education at an accredited four year college or university. - Candidates must illustrate their intentions clearly in the resume and/or cover letter. - Business, Accounting, Business Information Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Math/Statistics majors are preferred. - Must have a December 2020 or May 2021 anticipated graduation date from a four year college or university. - Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA Working Conditions Test Description No Testing Required Export Control Certain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
