Job Summary This summer internship opportunity will be assigned to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline Project (Atlantic/ACP) within Dominion Energy Transmission. Internship opportunities shall be offered in West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. The summer internship program will be a structured 10-12 week program starting in May and ending in August. This role will allow interns to shadow decision makers and individual contributors within the Atlantic project team, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the natural gas industry. Intern responsibilities shall be determined by business unit placement within the Atlantic Coast Pipeline project team. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline is a 600-mile underground natural gas transmission pipeline that will deliver new, lower-cost supplies of natural gas to public utilities in Virginia and North Carolina to generate cleaner electricity, heat homes and power local businesses. The $6 billion project is a partnership between four regional energy companies Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas and Southern Company Gas. With the regions population and manufacturing economy growing and as electric utilities switch from coal to cleaner-burning natural gas, demand for natural gas in Virginia and North Carolina will nearly double over the next two decades. Yet, the regions existing pipelines are fully tapped and unable to meet this growing demand. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will deliver the new supplies of natural gas public utilities need to serve growing demand by consumers and businesses in the region. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will be an energy provider, job creator and economic game changer for West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. This underground natural gas transmission pipeline will transport new supplies of natural gas from West Virginia to communities where its urgently needed in Virginia and North Carolina. Along the way, the pipeline will help the region lower emissions, improve air quality, grow local economies and create thousands of new jobs in manufacturing and other industries. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience - Strong written and verbal communications skills - Proficient with Microsoft products (MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) - Strong attention to detail - Effective planning and organization skills - Reliable transportation to enable travel to and from assigned construction office location - Candidates must be available to participate in the entire 10-12 weeks of the program during the summer - Strong desire to gain experience in the Energy industry Education Requirements - Candidates must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year university currenty pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Construction Management, Land, Engineering Technology or a related major. - Students must currently hold minimum overall GPA of 2.5. - Students must have a graduation date of spring 2022 or later.
