At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. - Job Summary Dominion Energy Nuclear is currently seeking a summer 2019 intern in the Corporate Nuclear Engineering and Fuel (NEF) departments Nuclear Safety Analysis Design (NSAD) group located at Dominions Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, VA. Job duties include: - Development of technical documents related to thermal/hydraulic conditions inside reactor cores, the reactor coolant system, and/or containment. - Development and documentation of updates to safety analysis codes and code models of reactor systems. - Development of technical documents related to potential worker radiation dose at the station under postulated accident conditions. - Support of licensing submittals related to station safety analyses prepared for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Project assignments will be made in consideration of completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers. Candidates shall possess: - Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level. - Strong communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills. - An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics. - Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and workstation computer, including standard Microsoft applications and Unix. - Computing/programming skills are preferred Education Requirements - Individuals must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering with nuclear coursework from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university. - Individuals must be classified as a Sophomore or Junior with an anticipated graduation date of 2020 or 2021. - Students must have a 3.2 minimum GPA.
