    Job Details Title Login Technician Employment Type Full Time City Decatur State AL Description JOB OBJECTIVE: Under direct supervision of Lab Support Manager, be responsible for sample log in and reporting. Acts as backup for all Lab Support positions. JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Each staff member should maintain positive, supportive, and cooperative attitude with our clients, staff and management of Environmental Science. 1. Perform or assist with reporting and log in functions by performing the following: a. Data entry, chain of custody review, printing, and compiling reports. b. General office duties, including filing and making copies for management. c. Log in samples according to chain of custody and determine priority of sample according to established SOPs. d. Change client format and test information in LIMS per TSR requests. e. Maintain knowledge of EPA methods to more accurately enter information into the computer system. f. Proof all work on a daily basis. 2. Perform or assist with sample receiving and preparation function by performing the following: a. Receive logged in sample containers and place into the appropriate holding places. b. Prepare samples which require splitting and/or compositing for the laboratory. 3. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School education, with at least two years of college chemistry (experience may waive this requirement); and knowledge of database, word processing and spreadsheet software. Laboratory work in an environmental setting a strong plus. Attention to detail is mandatory. Must have high accuracy for data entry in spelling and numbers, and in proofing data.
