    Job Description

    The Data Centers Cloud Developer is responsible for the design and production of core infrastructure systems for the private and public cloud.  As a member of Data Centers’ Cloud Services team, the Cloud Developer is responsible for providing self-service & monitoring systems for Expeditors’ data centers and development teams.  These systems satisfy customer and organizational requirements in order to provide solutions that support Expeditors’ infrastructure and accelerate the development of business applications. The Cloud Developer is able to analyze understand requirements and then apply their technical skills in the design, development, integration, and testing of data flows, applications, and systems.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be a collaborative member of a highly motivated and agile team
    • Develop and maintain self-service technology and monitoring systems
    • Apply technical skills in the design, development, integration, and testing of data flows, applications, & systems
    • Maintain good development practices to promote quality, encapsulation, abstraction, and reusability of code
    • Develop and maintain industry standard security practices for responsible software and systems
    • Support and administer developed software and systems
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
    • Strong scripting experience (especially Ruby, Python and PowerShell)
    • Strong experience working with RESTful APIs
    • Strong knowledge of web application security principles
    • Front end web development skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
    • Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts
    • Knowledge of networking (networks, subnetworks, IP address management, DNS records)
    • Knowledge of version control systems (Git, GitLab)
    • A relevant bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Azure or GCP development and/or administration
    • ManageIQ development and/or administration
    • Experience with the following:  Azure Python SDK, Ruby on Rails, yaml and SQL
    • Experience developing Ansible playbooks and Ansible Tower/AWX templates
    • Experience with Elastic Stack and/or Grafana
    • CI/CD pipeline experience
    • Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems
