    Job Description

    As part of the Operational Experience IS Portfolio, the Ground Network Service (GNS) & Transcon teams are responsible for migrating user functionality from our Legacy systems to our EXP.O system platform. The Product Owner (PO) is the member of the Agile Team responsible for defining and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities and deliver value through the team's software development outputs. The PO serves as the customer proxy responsible for working with Product Management, Business, and technical stakeholders and is the primary link to business and technology strategy. The PO ensures the team's output meets the user's needs and complies with the Definition of Done.

    The Product Owner will serve as the leader of their team in setting vision and outcome and is accountable to both architecture and business stakeholders to deliver value through the team's software development outputs. This role will be on a highly technical platform development team, responsible for building cloud enterprise services and data pipelines. To be successful, the PO must meet regularly with development teams across the organization and ensure product strategy aligns with the customer requirements.

    The PO must have a strong grounding in the business or technical domain for which the team is responsible for delivering products. Product can mean business product, code base, area of responsibility, software system, etc. As such the PO must be able to give direction to user experience, analysis, development, and QA team members on how each of their individual contributions contribute to the team's value delivery and align with the vision.

    The ideal candidate for this position must be detail oriented with strong communication and facilitation skills, is a problem solver, is technically savvy, and can build relationships with their agile teams, Product Management, customers, and stakeholders. They must also have a keen understanding of customer empathy and customer value proposition to guide the ongoing development of their product to achieve customer satisfaction. As such, the PO has a significant role in outcome-focused quality control and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Perform analysis on new feature development for our business applications and services.
    • Create/understand system integration diagrams and perform gap analysis.
    • Collaborates with stakeholders, translate business/functional requirements into easily understandable technical requirements, and communicate those to various technical and non-technical audiences. Also understands and articulates how the requirements relate to the program roadmap and vision.
    • Organize and facilitate sessions with stakeholders and business owners using system analysis and critical thinking skills to clarify requirements. Additionally, syncs with Product Management, Product Owners, Agile Teams, the ART's Leadership, and Business Owners.
    • Document process flow and data processing logic. Clarify integration challenges and questions along with stewarding changes through the development pipeline. Outline roadmap for developing new features that deliver parity with as-is functionality and enable desired to-be processes.
    • Lead cross-functional team to solve complex technical challenges, maximizing team productivity and velocity.
    • Participate in team and ART events. Attend and actively participate in team events during PI execution. Provide crucial feedback on the team's work from an outside-in, customer-centric point of view during iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration reviews, team retrospectives, and team syncs.
    • Participate in PO Sync, Iteration Reviews, and System Demos to help the team satisfy dependencies, demonstrate incremental value, and maintain cadence with the ART.
    • Build, refine, and prioritize team backlog in alignment with the program vision and roadmap.
    • Clearly define story acceptance criteria, accept stories into the team backlog, and ensure stories meet acceptance criteria upon completion. Ensures the team's output meets the user's needs and complies with the Definition of Done.
    • Contribute to the ART's Vision and Roadmap by assisting with the ART backlog prioritization, representing the end user, and educating the ART on the vision and roadmap during PI Planning
    • Responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the agile team through obtaining frequent feedback from customers and stakeholders and sharing that with their team, the ART, other POs, Product Management, and System Architects.
    • Collaborate with other Product Owners to resolve dependencies, coordinate efforts, and deliver cross-functional initiatives and technical enablers. Represent the team at Product Owner check-ins and pass relevant information back to the team.
    • Work closely with end-users to problem solve, understand usage, and gain feedback on their interactions with features and solutions. Act as the customer proxy to guide teams in the development of solutions.
    • Is technically adept on features, capabilities, and architectures of microservices developed by the team.
    • Collaborate with System Architects to craft enablers and work to establish appropriate capacity allocations.

    This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner plus 3-5 years in a related technical role.
    • 3+ years of Business and/or Systems Analysis experience with different data message types (e.g., XML, JSON, Avro).
    • Strong agile leadership; Experience in a software development environment with Agile Development practices including Scrum and SAFe.
    • Demonstrated ability to create technical requirements and mapping specification documents.
    • Comfortable creating and presenting complex business and technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.
    • Effective at navigating ambiguity and helping diverse teams drive toward clarity and consensus.
    • Must have a technical background and can understand software development concepts.
    • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of people.
    • Expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes.
    • Management of multiple and competing priorities.
    • Excellent time management and organization skills.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication.
    • Driven, strong 'get it done' attitude.
    • 2+ years of experience working with APIs, Apache Kafka and Stream Processing.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working in freight forwarding or other transportation industry roles.
    • Prior experience or understanding of the transportation/logistics industry.
    • Prior experience working with system-to-system integration and working on system migration projects.
    • Certification in Leading SAFe and SAFe PM/PO, experience working as part of a technical platform team.
    • Proficiency with the system development lifecycle, including agile techniques and other methodologies.
    • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
    • 2+ years of experience with Azure cloud or similar.
    • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and GraphQL APIs.
    • 2+ years of experience with Java, Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines.

    Additional Information

    Expected base salary: $100,000 to $145,000
