Transportation Operations Analyst GLOCC - ONSITE AT CLIENT
Job Description
The Transportation Operations Analyst works on-site with a large global customer. It requires a dynamic individual with a strong transportation & logistics background as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. An integral part of a Global Command Center Team, the Transportation Operations Analyst is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight as it moves through the global supply chain network. May lead and/or support regional and global project initiatives. Analyzes shipment issues and works to resolve problems quickly through proactive communication with carriers, vendors, and cross-functional departments. Collaborates across functions and regions, at all levels, to improve relationships and streamline operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Actively manage the safe and timely delivery of freight as it moves through the supply chain network ● Coordinate with customers, carriers, warehouses, and other service providers to proactively reduce delays in shipments reaching destination ● Quickly gather and analyze information from multiple sources, develop incident reports, and escalate to stakeholders through established communication protocols ● Conduct shipment track and trace, respond to ad-hoc price quotes, and other transportation related activities ● Ensure accuracy of data, metrics, dashboards and reporting tools ● Lead or support regional and global projects within the Command Center and support projects across functional areas as applicable ● Work with fellow analysts to identify global inconsistencies and develop methods for global standardization ● Conduct handoffs with regional Command Center teammates, facilitating 24/7 global operations ● Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional departments, as well as carriers, vendors, and other service providers ● Provide outstanding customer service, maintaining a positive attitude & professionalism ● Maintain proficiency on Command Center systems and tools ● Work within a team to identify security gaps, constraints, and trends ● Ensure processes and procedures are documented in updated SWIs/SOPs ● Create presentations, process maps and visual charts as applicable ● Crosstrain and assist with other transportation and logistics requirements as needed ● Meet minimum annual company training requirements
Qualifications
● Works collaboratively within a team, proficient using multiple communications platforms (i.e. email, chat, video conference, etc.) ● Effective interpersonal skills, proven ability to listen and communicate effectively ● Accustomed to leading meetings with customers, vendors and key stakeholders ● Risk sensitive, recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise ● Critical thinking using logic, data & qualitative reasoning ● Ability to develop, evaluate, and recommend best options ● Analytical with a strong attention to detail ● Highly motivated, proactive, strong sense of urgency, able to work in a fast-paced environment ● 2+ years transportation, logistics, distribution or related experience ● Demonstrated leadership experience ● Undergraduate degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or other related field ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills ● Must speak English fluently ● Proficient in Google suites, Microsoft suite ● Continuous process improvement experience, a plus ● Industry certifications, a plus ● Must be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours, including weekends ● Domestic and international travel, as needed (less than 25%)
