Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated while also taking direction from Management.  Also required are excellent oral/written communication skills and a proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels. Our work environment is team oriented and very fast paced, therefore a strong candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills in addition to a professional attitude that exemplifies the Expeditors culture.

Position hours are Monday - Friday 11:00am - 8:00pm with overtime as needed.

• Timely and professional communication with clients and offices through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and in person.
• Tracking and tracing of freight
• Preparation of quotes to clients
• Client notification of shipment delays, missing cargo, damaged freight
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operations system
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing
• Ensure compliance at all times to regulations
• Dispatch freight deliveries
• Monitor reports
• Contribute to maintaining strong vendor relationships - airlines, trucking companies, and others
• Meet key performance indicators in support of department, branch, product, and company goals
• Desire to understand overall department process flow and constantly seek opportunities for improved efficiency
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, however equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Effective interpersonal skills-including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills are critical
• Attention to detail
• Strong computer skills
• Desire for a career in supply chain/logistics.
