JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position partners and consults with senior business leaders to plan and execute HR strategies / offerings within their assigned business unit(s). The incumbent collaborates with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to respond to routine business and/or employee needs. This role will be aligned to and possess vertical ownership of a smaller, more straightforward business unit/department as business needs dictate. Work as an agent to enhance our already high-performance, family-oriented workplace culture by being proactive, strategic, and forward-thinking. The position will support their assigned business unit(s) as needed, with emphasis on talent acquisition, talent management and change management. This position may have various levels of employees reporting to them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and analyze the HR needs of a designated client including recommending programs, policies, and other HR initiatives/offerings to support the business (e.g., employee engagement, recruiting, retention or training)
Consult with management during the strategic planning process and on the development of human resources strategies and initiatives that support the business needs
Influence and support the culture, values and standards of J.B. Hunt to facilitate strategic goals
Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, and coaching and counseling managers and employees in dealing with general employee issues, job-related performance and personal well-being
Oversee and provide guidance on employee relations issue investigations and escalation to appropriate parties when warranted (e.g., Compliance, Legal)
Administer the succession planning process for a team, business unit, etc. and provide consultation as needed
Implement and consult on human resources policies and procedures; provide interpretation and guidance to managers and employees
Drive human resources initiatives within the organization and act as a liaison to other human resources functions when necessary
Ensure organizational compliance with all HR related regulations, laws and guidelines
Provide oversight to consultation with managers and HR staff regarding the job analysis, job development and competency management processes; contribute and verify content for defining jobs (responsibilities, qualifications, competencies, etc.) and career paths for the organization
Execute the workforce planning strategy to support organizational development goals
Ensure proper alignment of performance management, compensation, organizational development, and employee retention initiatives
Consistently work to improve the processes and practices of your business unit by leveraging reliable approaches
Plan and administer the employee severance program
Provide consultation for needs of the business
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Communications, Psychology or related field; 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
HR Professional Certification - HRCI
HR Professional Certification - SHRM
2 years of management experience.
Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
