  • Responsibilities

    An ideal candidate should be able to speak intelligently about the process of software development, while getting their hands on the keyboard to deliver real functionality. We need strong developers that are familiar with modern best practices, who can develop code in a disciplined way that meets project needs and won’t sacrifice quality just to get something shipped quickly.  We’re also looking for somebody that can understand the larger picture, and has experience dealing with back-end services and other teams.

     

    The world of machine learning and backend integration is constantly evolving. We are interested in people that stay up to date on the current trends and can provide measured feedback on when it is appropriate to adopt a new technology. We take a rational approach to decision making based what our options are, and how they help us achieve our goals; candidates should be comfortable with that approach.

     

    Because we work collaboratively, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.  We also use Agile delivery methodologies, so Agile experience is also desirable.  The primary backend applications driven by this team are built using Java 8+, Spring Boot, and MongoDB/Oracle databases. The machine learning models are built using Python, PyTorch, BERT, and Scikit-learn.

    • Delivers code on time and with quality
    • Ensures all new code is delivered with adequate unit test coverage
    • Participates in the discussion and documentation of best practices and standards for web development
    • Participates in all team meetings
    • Complies with all company policies and procedures
    • Remains current in profession and industry trends
    • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 8+ years of experience in software development using various technologies such as Java, Python, RDBMS and NoSQL.
    • 5+ years of RESTful webservices development, preferrably in the AWS ecosystem
    • 5+ years of Micro Services API development using Sprint Boot
    • 2+ years experience with event-driven service implementations and messaging technologies like JMS or Kafka
    • 5+ years of development using both NoSQL and relational databases
    • 5+ years using the agile methodology to deliver business value to stakeholders
    • 1+ year developing in AWS cloud native or server less approach (ECS, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Code Deploy, Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, S3)
    • Strong expertise with different data structures and algorithms, data parsing and transformation techniques for JSON and XML
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related discipline

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
    • Experience with Docker containerization
    • Experience with various unit test frameworks (Ex: Junit or PyTest) is a plus
    • Working Knowledge/experience with build basic statistics/machine learning models in Python/R is a plus

    Salary Range - $101,000 - 155,000

  • Qualifications
    • Estimate, including assisting with quantity take-offs, subcontractor list management and subcontractor contacts, research on various systems and products, studies and comparisons, document management, and keeping accurate records.
    • Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently and client expectations are exceeded throughout the duration of the project(s).
    • Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work.
    • Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
    • Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
