  • Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Checks incoming and outgoing shipments, item by item, and quantity, including cores on a timely basis.
    • Confirms accuracy of packing slips, shipping invoices, vouchers, and back orders.  Notifies Parts Manager about cost change and adjusts accordingly in ADP.
    • Maintains files of invoices, vouchers, shipping orders, and packing slips.
    • Reports parts and materials damaged in shipment to Parts Coordinator.
    • Assists in coding parts and accessories for inventory control.
    • Places incoming parts and other materials in proper locations.
    • Receives parts into ADP systems.
    • Prepares necessary papers and ships parts to designated consignee.
    • Delivers parts to customers as needed.
    • Sweeps warehouse as needed.
    • Checks freight charges and charges customers accordingly.
    • Organizes parts in a clear, systematic fashion.
    • Performs other duties which may be occasionally required by the Parts Manager.
    • Strives for harmony and teamwork within department and with other departments.
    • Maintains professional personal appearance.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High School Diploma or equivalent and two years related experience. 

    Ability to use computers for inventory.

    Excellent communication and organization skills. 

    Ability to drive and operate a forklift safely. 

    Strong attention to detail (works w/ many part numbers on a daily basis)

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This is a physically demanding position.  Spends 6 – 8 hours per day walking and standing. Lifts and transports parts weighing up to 90 pounds several times per day.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.  Required to wear dealership provided uniform at all times. Operates forklift.
