    Mechanical Engineer (Entry Level) Job Locations US-AR-Fort Smith Job ID 2018-1958 # of Openings 1 Category Engineering Overview HSM is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Fort Smith location. The Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support to the project management team. Engineering support includes development of a working knowledge of all equipment involved in metal stamping, metal fabrication, tube bending, welding, powder coating and assembly processes. This knowledge will be utilized to facilitate prototype orders, create manufacturing cost estimates, and create manufacturing process work instructions. Engineering support also includes 3D CAD modeling capability. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of metal working machines, operations and procedures. He/she must have the ability to determine work methods and procedures to ensure a high degree of accuracy, precision, and conformity to customer requirements. The candidate must be proficient in use of 3D CAD software. Please note sponsorhip and relocation are not available. Responsibilities 3D CAD software proficiency Program CNC metal fabrication equipment Facilitate engineering change notices Develop manufacturing processes for new products Administer lean manufacturing principles for process improvements Develop bill of materials (BOM) for new products Administer (BOM) changes for existing products Develop cost justifications for capital equipment requests Qualifications Education/ Experience : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree Minimum 1-3 years related work experience preferred, will consider new graduate with manufacturing background/experience. Must have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines Professional verbal and written communication skills essential Must have experience demonstrating strong technical skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Must have excellent problem-solving skills, ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, be self-motivated and safety-conscious.
