The low voltage technician / technology expert will install, remove, repair & diagnose all company mobile technology including MCP 200 (Qualcomm), People net, tablets, cameras, as well as GPS equipment on trailing equipment at the direction of assistant shop manager or shop manager. Expectations include the ability to perform light repairs as well as maintain inventory for replacement or warranty items. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Comply with all safety and best practices. Install and remove various technology from company assets as well as owner operator equipment. Prepare new equipment for delivery and end of life equipment for sale. Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order as well as prepare warrantable parts for return to manufacturer. Maintain work area appearance and safety. Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches safely and efficiently to preform required tasks. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers or multimeters as well as wiring diagrams. Perform light mechanical work such as (but not limited to) replace mud flap or an inoperative light at direction of management. Provide customer service to the drivers who need maintenance work. Maintain proper inventory of all equipment & records for all repairs, installs, or removals and transfers. Maintain inventory of and care for company tools. Proficiently enter all transactions within the maintenance system. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor. 1-2 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational / Technical or certification preferred. A valid Drivers license is required. Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills. Organized with the ability to deal with multiple activities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in the use of needed shop tools required. Team player with excellent communication skills required. Strong work ethic. Basic computer skills to enter data into maintenance software system is required. Results orientated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in non- climate-controlled environment required. Willingness to travel as needed for various training required.
