Intern, Continuous Improvement JOB SUMMARY: Learn about
transportation modeling techniques and methods through participation in
the analysis and modeling of transportation networks. Conduct initial
data analysis and validation. Format data files in preparation for
further analysis and modeling. Gain an understanding of, and interest in
transportation and logistics principles, economics, and supply chain
network behavior. ** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** * Work with logistics
analysts and other team members to learn transportation optimization
techniques including mode selection, freight consolidation, load
building, efficient routing, and pool distribution to support
preparation of detailed analyses of supply chain costs and services *
Perform initial data analysis, validation, and formatting * With
supervision, analyze the findings and document recommended actions *
Perform other responsibilities as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *
Enrolled in a logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or
relevant undergraduate degree program for the duration of the internship
- PC / Computer skills * Problem solving skills * Communications skills
- interpersonal, verbal, written, telephone * Ability to function in a
team-based environment This position is aschool year internship
starting in September 2018 and ending in May 2019. Allapplicants must be
able to work 20 hours a week. Hub Group is flexible on hoursand days per
