  • Responsibilities

    This is a temporary position in the Human Resources Department, working in the general area of Human Resources that will either supplement the student's major field of study &/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education & meaningful preparation for future professional employment while working under close supervision.

    • Assists in the preparation & maintenance of employee personnel records (e.g., files e-files, personnel actions, position descriptions, etc.) using computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
    • Assists with gathering & compiling information for reports & special projects (e.g., job fairs & other recruitment efforts, Summer//Winter/College Programs) within all sections of Human Resources (HR).
    • Assists with writing & distributing HR related correspondence; answers & directs phone calls.
    • Assists in Physical Abilities Testing (PAT) administration (e.g., mails letters, maintains databases & files, etc.).
    • Sets up conference rooms for training (e.g., New Hire Orientation, Highway Technician Academy).
    • Updates & maintains various databases & computer tracking systems utilizing computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, & Intranet).
    • Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., greets visitors & assists applicants; files; schedules meetings & interviews; makes copies; updates & creates slideshow presentations; performs inventory spot checks).

    • Must currently be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing.

    • Preferred Major: Business Administration or Human Resources

  • Compensation
    The rate of pay is based upon the student's academic status - Freshman (1st Year) $8.50 - $11.72 - Sophomore (2nd Year): $9.00 -$12.22 - Junior (3rd Year) $9.50-$13.72 - Senior: $9.75 - $14.72 Graduate or Law School: - 1st year $10.00-$15.66 - 2nd year $10.25-$16.41 - 3rd year $10.50-$17.91
