    Job Description

    Weber Marine, L.L.C (a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Barge Company ) is looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our Burnside, LA based Operations team, as Manager, M/V Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing safe and productive operations of motor vessels and the supervision of crew members. The group of vessels assigned to this position may transit several different geographic areas within different river segments and will require you to be nimble.

    Our successful candidate will need robust communication skills as they will be interacting with Ingram associates within all levels of our organization, as well as our external clients.     What you’ll be doing:

    • Assisting vessel Wheelhouse managers with safety, productivity, ethical, customer, crew, and operational issues
    • Ensuring safety of operations, upkeep of vessels, compliance with all United States Coast Guard and other applicable regulations
    • Spending time aboard vessels to maintain efficient operations and capture/implement best practices
    • Working directly with the Crew Dispatchers to coordinate crewing of vessels and personnel changes
    • Remain updated with USCG rules and regulations
    • Working with Maintenance & Repair and crews to ensure that Ingram’s high standard of maintenance and appearance are upheld
    • Multi-tasking and changing directions quickly with precise movement
    • Coordinating tow size, barge drafts, vessel repairs and vessel turns with customer service
    • Working closely with human resources to ensure consistent application of personnel policies
    • Ensuring wheelhouse managers are evaluated annually and attend required training
    • Supporting advocacy and career advancement for all crew members
    • Communicating with governmental regulatory agencies
    • Other duties may be assigned or requested, including special projects
    • Supporting department activities with regular and prompt attendance
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • 4-5 years in the wheelhouse transiting St. Louis to the Gulf required
    • USCG Master License, TWIC< FCC, Radar, Medical, First Aid/CPR required
    • Strong experience moving heavy tows on LMR and UMR, St. Louis to Gulf required
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Excellent communication skills with all levels of associates, including cross communication among departments, while maintaining a high level of professionalism
    • Safety certification or the ability to obtain quickly
    • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office
    • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
    • Team oriented
