Internship (Summer) Franchise Law Location: NJ - Mahwah Department: Franchise Operations Description Jaguar Land Rover North Americas summer internship program has a great opportunity for a political science undergrad entering their junior or senior year, or student in law school to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of the automotive industry! This is a great opportunity for personal growth and development from a business and learning perspective. Details of the program: The program is open only to students at a Junior or Senior level in their Bachelors Degree program, or who are enrolled in a Graduate School program. This is a summer internship (running form June through August 2018), and the successful intern must be able and willing to commit to the full length of the program. Intern is asked to work for 40 hours per week in the Mahwah, NJ office (Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM 5:30 PM). Outline of Role: We currently have an opportunity to give a Political Science student or Law School Student first hand exposure to Franchise Law. The successful intern will gain hands-on experience and exposure to how our business runs. Supporting our team on a special project, the intern will monitor and analyze state franchise laws for potential impact(s) to Jaguar Land Rover, and provide summary to key stakeholders within the business (i.e.: Legal, Government Relations, Network Development). For this project, the intern will develop a mechanism which allows for tracking and analyzing franchise laws across all states. This "tool" would then be used by our business going forward following the completion of the project. Key Criteria for Role: Bachelors Degree in progress (Junior or Senior) in Political Science, or currently pursuing a Law Degree; 3.0 GPA or higher; Understanding of franchise system is helpful but not required; Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency required; Strong communication and presentation skills; High level of professionalism; Detail-oriented, self-starter, strong work ethic, team player, ability to build rapport and communicate confidently; Self-starter and ability to work independently or with teams as required; Ability to leverage insights to draw sound conclusions and translate them into actionable recommendations.
