Experience : 0 Description : Position Title: JET Intern Co-Op Industrial Engineering Position Summary: The JetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation in the developing real-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interest or areas of study.?? The Industrial Engineering Intern works on various operational improvement projects. They study current operations via data collection/time studies recommending layout/process changes using statistics, among other toolsets. Industrial Engineering Internisalso responsible for helping develop/maintain staffing models used to staffJetBlueAirport Crewmembers system-wide. Essential Responsibilities: Support fellow Industrial Engineering team members with data collection/time studies and analysis in an effort to improve processes to drive higher operational efficiency + Perform time studies to establish operations standards + Recommend process changes to increase efficiency throughout the system + Work closely with project Customers and other key stakeholders to implement recommendations if necessary + Other duties as assigned Minimum Experience and Qualifications: + Currently enrolled in an accreditedCollege orUniversitywith a major inIndustrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or similar major (Sophomore or Junior status) + Ability to commit to 1 full academic calendar year (sophomore) or 8-9 month internship (junior)while alternating with school semesters/quarters: + Sophomore commitment: 2 semesters + 1 summer OR 4 quarters + Junior commitment: 1 semester + 1 summer OR 3 quarters + Strong analytical and problem solving skills + Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment + Ability to work with minimal supervision + Strong organizational skills + Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite + Able to provide official transcript + Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test + Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locate Preferred Experience and Qualifications: + GPA: 3.2 or above + Strong public speaking and presentation skills + Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Airport experience and operation + Strong business foundations to support recommendations Crewmember Expectations: + Regular attendance and punctuality + Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice + Well-groomedand able to maintain a professional appearance + When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft + Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity,Passion andFun + Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards + Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))?
