Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of over 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The iDeas Lab, the award-winning creative and digital production department at CSIS, seeks a highly motivated and creative self-starter to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment as a Multimedia Producer starting immediately.

     

    The iDeas Lab enhances CSIS's policy research and analysis with the latest in cutting-edge web technologies, design, video, and audio. The multimedia producer will work closely with the iDeas Lab team and the Director of Streaming and Broadcasting to create dynamic multimedia content to be integrated within CSIS streaming events. Candidates should be capable of editing high volumes of material and utilizing motion graphics templates to generate exquisite, on brand video elements. This is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial producer with experience in television production who is ready to contribute new ideas and work in a fast-paced environment.

     

    The multimedia producer will partner with our experts and the department to help create a live streaming culture within CSIS.

     

    Beyond having strong experience with all aspects of video production, the successful candidate will possess sharp news acumen, excellent writing/editorial skills, communication and organization skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and innovative environment while meeting tight deadlines. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a team player while also having independent self-direction.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead, produce, and develop video projects from start to finish, including scripting, filming, editing, compiling, developing visual/audio assets, animations/motion design, and all other aspects of production for videos that will be incorporated into CSIS streaming events. • Proficiency with Adobe After Effects and Expertise in Premiere is required. • Work closely with relevant departments and research programs to develop and produce multimedia for CSIS projects to suit stated goals and needs; communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders is critical. • Develop and generate new ideas and approaches to our digital and multimedia work, particularly as we seek to create a streaming culture. • Coordinate with program staff and the streaming & broadcasting team to provide roll-in videos and graphics packages for live events. • Other duties and projects as needed.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • B.A./B.S/A.B. in relevant field • Minimum two years of relevant experience, including previous multimedia, video and television production • Knowledge and experience in applicable software and computer applications, including Adobe Creative Suite • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; including effectively presenting information to non-technical partners, operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow through skills • Strong interest in global affairs and public policy • Sound judgement, maturity, and discretion
