Employee must have 12 months experience as a Gas Pipeline Inspector Helper or equivalent and successfully completed all training and testing programs required in that classification. 2. Employee must be operator qualified in task such as electrofusion, socket fusion, saddle fusion, butt fusion, mechanical jointing, taping service tees, house line testing, serving testing, asbestos abatement, asbestos awareness, basic corrosion, excavation competent person, locating underground piping and plug value operation and maintenance. 3. Employee must have demonstrated a familiarity with and have a good working knowledge of the operations, maintenance, and construction of the gas systems. 4. Employee must be willing to work outside under varying weather conditions. 5. Employee must be willing to report as directed to any location for any shift where needed. 6. Employee must be in good health and be able to perform physical requirements of the job which include heavy manual labor and the ability to wear all required PPE. 7. Employee must have demonstrated the ability to perform simple arithmetic functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) encountered on the job. 8. Employee must have demonstrated the ability to meet the public in a pleasant, courteous, and tactful manner and must possess the ability to work cooperatively with other departments, utilities, and contractors with which his/her work must be coordinated. 9. Employee will perform all the duties of Gas Pipeline Inspection Helper. 2. Employee will perform and assist others in the construction, operation, removal, and maintenance of gas mains, service, metering, and/or regulation equipment and other related facilities. 3. Employee will perform and assist others in the performance of pipeline inspections, including learning the various rules and regulations pertaining to these duties. 4. Employee will perform and assist others in duties related to customer piping inspections, such as, but not limited to, actual visual inspections, pressure testing, and customer information, including explaining various rules and regulations connected to such duties. 5. Employee will perform duties of lighting customer appliances. 6. Employee will perform and assist others in the performance of turn-ons and turn-offs on customer services. 7. Employee will inspect, operate, adjust, place, change, and make minor field repairs to gas meters, regulators, and over-pressure protection devices for residential and small commercial customers. 8. Employee will test customer piping for leaks including soap testing exposed piping and locating and probing for gas leaks. 9. Employee will perform and assist others in investigating, answering, and correcting all types of gas service complaints. 10. Employee will use various instruments such as, but not limited to, pipeline locators, metal detectors, voltmeters, odormeters, combustible gas indicators, and leak survey equipment. 11. Employee will operate and maintain various stopping, tapping, and other equipment and tools used in the performance of duties. 12. Employee will develop and maintain a current working knowledge of the gas systems and maps and records of the areas to which he/she is assigned. 13. Employee will conduct and record results of routine leak surveys (including leak classification) and tests, as directed, to maintain the safe operation of the gas system. 18.
