    POSITION SUMMARY 

     

    Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Associate will contribute to the activities of the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Program. The Program Associate mainly works collaboratively and independently, with some guidance, to develop and carry out activities in the following main areas: program administrative management, oversight and substantive contribution to the application review process, technical assistance to applicants and awardees, and project analysis.  

     

     

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

     

    GENERAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT (PRE- AND POST-AWARD PROCESSES) 

     

    • Support the administration of the Engagement Award Program’s process for reviewing letters of intent and applications, and making awards using Salesforce (online application and awardee portfolio management system) and other internal tracking tools 
    • Engage in cross-departmental collaboration with PCORI teams and departments that are involved in the development and execution of the award program’s review process 
    • Monitor and track progress of applications through the award program’s review process 
    • Create review meeting agendas, document meeting discussions and reviewer decisions, and write memos and other correspondence related to review meeting discussions and outcomes 
    • Make post-application cycle recommendations for revisions and improvements to the merit review process to ensure it remains robust, rigorous, and responsive to PCORI and Engagement Award organizational and funding priorities 
    • Assist Program Officers with monitoring post-award project work including communicating with awardees, providing support with ensuring receipt of project milestone/deliverable products, and aiding the contract modification processes, and triaging awardee technical assistance, including working with Contracts Management, Communications, and IT departments, as needed  
    • Address both internal and external inquiries related to the award program 
    • Analyze applicant/application information, including returning organizations, stakeholders, disease areas, experience, expertise, etc. 
    • Support programmatic data management, to include running reports, coding, and extracting data 
    • Prepare draft reports, presentations, and other materials for staff, Board, subcommittee, or advisory panel meetings

     

     

    TECHNICAL SUPPORT 

     

    • Develop and maintain proficient skills in Salesforce as demonstrated by the ability to support the program Manager with administration of the funding program through that platform and those relevant to it.

     

     

    OTHER 

    • Support various activities central to the award program’s operations, including, but not limited to developing presentations and webinars, implementing evaluation frameworks and program performance reporting, developing or revising standard operating processes and program materials, and participating in meetings with applicants, awardees, and other PCORI stakeholders.

    Required Experience

     

     

    • Bachelor's degree plus three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience required 
    • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., MPH, MPA, MPP, or MBA) or its equivalent with one (1) to four (4) years of related work experience preferred 
    • Previous project/program administrative management, contracts/grants management, or research administration experience strongly preferred
