    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Complete responsibility for US the import customs brokerage process and superior customer service delivery for defined team within our CHB operation. Sets organizational plans for the team along with owning the overall client experience.

    Additional areas of focus include:

    •Classifications and special customs details as required

    •Other government agency compliance requirements

    •Ensuring accurate accounting practices such as client invoicing and job accruals

    •Specialized client reports as needed

    •A/R status and collection efforts to ensure optimal cash flow

    •Client specific needs and requirements

    •Contribute to setting annual objectives for the department

    •Measure and monitor results against KPI’s established and hold any supervisory level colleagues accountable

    •Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include driving employee engagement through training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; participation in appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    •Diligent execution of duties in order to comply with Customs Brokers’ responsibilities under CFR FR 19, Section 111, Subpart C

    •Utilize lean management tools to evaluate the team structure and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.

    •Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to management.

     

    WE ARE LOOKING FOR

     

    •Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience preferred; HS Diploma required

    •Customs House Brokerage License preferred

    •3-6 years of experience in the industry

    •2-3 years previous management experience

    •A strong execution minded manager with strong financial technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus including an understanding of systems.

    •Strong understanding of transportation industry

    •Excellent communication skills can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

    •Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills.

    •A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player and also has political acumen.

    •Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility, manage resources effectively and efficiently

    •Ability to train, coach, evaluate and mentor.

    •Strong thought leadership and influencing skills, ability to engage multiple business units to develop solutions.

    •Strong and current knowledge of technology platforms, MS Office products and ability to quickly adapt to new software.
