Responsibilities: Inspection/Reliability:You will support the Inspectors through research and data gathering; review inspection recommendations and input appropriate data into the Meridium program. You will also assist in the maintenance of the reliability analyses files for Fixed Equipment, creation and maintenance of a database for inspection studies, and track numerous programs (RBI Risk Based Inspection, CUI Corrosion Under Insulation, PMI Positive Metallurgical Identification, new Piping BP Basic Practice, and Underground Line Testing). Metallurgical/Corrosion Engineering:You will assist in the creation/maintenance of a database for corrosion coupon monitoring; research/gather data for metallurgical recommendation reporting and failure analysis. You will assist in the creation/maintenance of corrosion process flow diagrams. In addition, you will assist in the maintenance of the Contractor Database and the Metallurgical Projects Database. You will be responsible for organizing/maintaining the Inspection Library Database. Qualifications: -Desired majors are as follows: Metallurgical Engineering; Materials Engineering -Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required -Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. -Positions are available spring, summer, and fall semesters -A valid driver's license is required -Military experience a plus We hire for the following locations: -Catlettsburg, KY and Robinson, IL About Marathon Petroleum Corporation MPC is the nation's second-largest refiner, with a crude oil refining capacity of approximately 1.9 million barrels per calendar day in its six-refinery system.
