Job Title: OS&D Service Center Clerk
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Shift: Monday thru Friday 6am to 2:30pm
Summary: The OS&D Service Center Clerk will inspect shipments to validate claims primarily on the dock; work with claimants to assess responsibility and recreate scenarios to assess liability. This position will also address overage, shortage, and damage issues; research causes of claims; analyze root causes; determine solutions; communicate findings and provide quality customer service to both external and internal customers alike.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have prior experience with Transportation, customer support, claims and billing.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills/Qualifications: Computer literate, PC and mainframe. MS Windows, Word and Excel. 10 keys.
