JOB SUMMARY The Internship Program for Olam Spices & Vegetable
Ingredients is designed to provide exceptional students with a unique
opportunity to learn about the diverse business operations of a Global
Agribusiness Company. Those candidates selected for the Program will
gain invaluable work experience through challenging project assignments,
information sessions hosted by Olam management, and the opportunities to
work with skilled agribusiness leaders of the company throughout the San
Joaquin Valley. Under the direction of Supply Chain Management, the
Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for executing allocation
initiatives to optimize inventory allocated to customer contracts. This
candidate will work with Sales, Operations, Product Line, Quality
departments to adequately replenish inventory needs. The Supply Chain
Intern will be responsible for evaluating numerically detailed inventory
and production quality results for multiple products including traded
goods. This person will work with Product Line Managers and Sales
Managers to proactively communicate and respond to issues that drive
business, and work closely with the Customer Service department,
providing support and relevant inventory and demand detail. This is a
paid internship and compensation will be $12.00 - $13.00/hr. A typical
day might consist of: * Working with the plant to get the production
plan executed in timely manner. * Helping Customer Operations and Plant
Shipment teams execute sales shipments and resolve order issues. *
Helping improve customer communication and inventory utilization by
analyzing the balance between inventory and customer demand. * Cross
functionality; extensive collaboration among supply chain, sales,
product line management, operations, quality, and customer operations. *
Re-designating inventory post production to prepare SKUs for allocation.
- Monitoring quality stock to ensure it is released on time. * Daily
production report preparation including what was produced yesterday,
week to date, and season to date to assist with Daily pack calls. *
Daily summarizing of Fresh Pack retail business including how we are
actualizing to the schedule and customer demand. This position requires:
