    Framatome is seeking a Engineering Supervisor for the Rods, Bundles, Cages and Control Components (RBC) Product Center for our Horn Rapids Road office in Richland, Washington.

     

    Typical projects are all aspects of the fabrication of nuclear fuel - this may include tooling, process definition, corrective action implementation, deviation resolution, process qualification and documentation.   Activities supported include welding, mechanical fastening, assembly, fixturing, inspection, and packaging of fuel and components.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Supervise process engineers and engineering technicians to coordinate day-to-day tasks and strategic projects to meet department and site goals.
    • Provide Technical and Engineering support of production activities – fuel rods, bundles, cages and control components manufacturing.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce costs, improve quality, and reduce cycle times.
    • Development, qualification, and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
    • Identify equipment needs and product design changes to improve cost, quality, and manufacturability.
    • Maintain qualifications for all process equipment.
    • Identify root cause of manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare manufacturing route cards, procedures, project documents, and inspection plans.
    • Resolve product deviations.

     

     

    TRAVEL: Occasional/sporadic

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • BS in Eng'g/Eng'g Tech. plus 7 years of engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MBA/MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1- 3 yrs.). In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of 4 yr eng'g degree.

     

     

     

    THE FOLLOWING MAY BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Framatome LSS Black Belt certification preferred.

    • Leadership ability to supervise both exempt and non-exempt employees.

    • Strong technical problem-solving abilities.

    • Strong interpersonal skills.

    • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

    • Experience with Human Performance Tools.

    • Experience with at least one of the following: Lean, OEE, Manufacturing Excellence, Conduct of Operations

    • Special consideration will be given to candidates with a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.

    • Supervisory experience or education/training classes related to leadership skill building.

    • A background in nuclear manufacturing operations.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • A desire to work in a team environment.
