    Job Description

    SUMMARY: Responsible for the direct influence of frontline employees, peers and leadership and to support safe operational objectives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor Driver Safety Performance (using XRS, Samba and Vigillo and other monitoring systems).
    • Provide training to drivers in an effort to improve safety performance in all aspects of driver related areas.
    • Identify unique opportunities to engage drivers to improve their employment experience and safety performance.
    • Review all driver files for assigned regions within a designated time and approve/disqualify based on company standards and guidelines.
    • Lead collision, injury, near miss and non-conformance investigations.
    • Provide reporting to Operational leadership on site specific KPIs.
    • Operational Subject Matter Expert on transportation safety related issues.
    • Aide in the development of safety knowledge policies and work with operational personnel to implement best practices.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    No direct reports. Indirect supervision of driver fleet.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Possesses a working level of knowledge of DOT regulations, the FMCSR, HazMat, PHMSA, OSHA, CARB, Driver Qualifications/ Disqualifications, HOS, event record devices, commercial truck inspections and their mechanical systems, electronic logging devices, Out-Of-Service (OOS) criteria, CVSA; PPE.
    • Be able to effectively deliver training.
    • NATMI certifications such as CDS and SDS are preferred.
