    POSITION TITLE: Sourcing Manager, Optical & Eyewear

    REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager, Sourcing & Production DEPARTMENT: Sourcing and Production

    SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

    The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the implementation of Quay’s sourcing strategies. In partnership with the Sr. Manager, Sourcing & Production, this position must ensure that vendor selection is in support of the design vision, cost, quality, and on time delivery requirements. This role is accountable for driving development metrics, meeting margin requirements, and on-time delivery of goods.

     

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

    • Manages the sampling process, including: (40%, Collab)
      1. Select suppliers of raw materials based on core strengths, capacity, cost, and growth plans.
      2. Identify opportunities to improve design execution, quality, and cost on an ongoing eval cycle
      3. Ensure all raw materials, tech packs, and product approvals are completed in time to meet production deadlines.
      4. Own tracking of all aspects impacting product development; provide updates to Design, PD, and Merchandising team.
    • Negotiate with factories: best cost, lead time, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) to meet/exceed margin and cost targets for each new product at SKU level. (20% Collab).
    • Ensure adherence to seasonal milestone deadlines to deliver samples and costing requirements in line with critical path milestones. (10%, Primary)
    • Proactively work with Planning and Inventory Management to support inventory levels to all global channels through chase production execution when required. (5%, Collab)
    • Monitor supplier's key performance metrics related to quality, service, capacity, on time delivery, and quarterly supplier report cards, as well as enforce chargeback policy. (5%, Primary)
      • Oversee the approval of all confirmation samples (CM’s) and press samples (PR), working alongside Design/Merch as needed. (5% Collab)
        • Manage vendor agreements, contracts, confidentiality disclosure agreements, and scope of work agreements. (5%, Primary)
        • Establish, build, and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, manage supplier meetings, and travel. (10%, Primary)

    FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Product Cost and Margin

    KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:  This role must maintain strong working relationships with Merchandising, Design, Production, and Planning teams.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years Sourcing and Purchasing experience
    • Undergraduate degree required
    • Excellent written and verbal business communication skills
    • Able to make recommendations based on analytics for process efficiency in team environment and influence cross functional teams
    • Strong management and leadership skills to cultivate teamwork, coach, mentor, and motivate team to achieve positive results
    • Proficient with Microsoft office suite including strong Excel skills
    • Preferred: knowledge of eyewear and optical industry

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • 10% - Possible domestic & international travel 2 times per year

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • This position is based in an office environment. Primarily sedentary work with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Must be able to perform essential functions (with or without an accommodation) without posing a "direct threat" to the health and safety to self or others.
