Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Seating Engineer to support production operations, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives for automotive seating systems. This position requires strong technical expertise in seat assembly, foam and urethane molding, quality systems, and launch engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Investigate and resolve non-conforming/rejected seating components via root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide timely feedback to DREs, product engineers, and plant leaders to drive design improvements and closure.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Development, and Program Management for production/launch readiness.
- Review CAD and drawings for feasibility, manufacturability, and tolerance stack-ups.
- Support DV/PV testing (foam compression, durability, function, comfort) and analyze results for compliance.
- Participate in prototypes, pre-production, and launches; track and close issues using standard metrics.
- Prepare APQP/PPAP deliverables (DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, process flows).
- Drive continuous improvement in seat assembly, foam/urethane molding, and product quality.
- Serve as customer-facing technical contact for design reviews, warranty topics, and validation updates.
- Analyze field returns and warranty claims to identify trends and implement permanent fixes.
