Sand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint
Apply alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment
Assist with the application of primers to aircraft surface
Assist with painting parts, components, and/or aircraft surface
Assist with checking for imperfections after painting and striping application using discrepancy sheet and documented squawks and perform touch-up work as required
Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as required
May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA
Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification
Apply base coat of paint, stripes, decals, and vinyl appliques to aircraft surface
Qualifications
Qualifications
10 years structural sheet metal repair / modification experience or substantiated similar experience
Sheet metal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling
Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
A Certification, or A & P Certificate or Repairman Certificate – (Commercial Only)
Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools
Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required
Ability to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays
Ability to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (If applicable)
Basic PC skills
