Job Description

This role will be responsible for completing the mechanical design of heavy equipment projects, including the manufacturing/procurement, installation and commissioning of this new equipment:

• Provide Mechanical Engineering design for assigned projects including: assembly drawing, detail drawing, 2D (Draftsite) or 3D (Solidworks) and bill of material
• Research and propose commercial component when needed
• Manage BOM and archiving with TeamCenter
• Respect client mechanical design standards in all equipment designs.
• Create Budgetary Estimates and Request For Quote Packages on assigned projects.
• Facilitate the order of equipment and materials for assigned projects.
• Provide equipment acceptance inspections on equipment that comes into the plant
• Provide Management of mechanical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through Start-up and Commissioning.
• Adjust and debug the machine
• Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers, other engineers, and suppliers to complete equipment acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience

Preferred 4-6 years of Engineering Experience in designing and commissioning machinery.

Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3D-CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred, DraftSite is also a plus.

Experience with Dossier document management systems required, TeamCenter is preferred.

Managing correction of equipment non-conformities and acceptance.

Experience in: mixing or other heavy machinery design is a plus

Good communications skills is a must
