  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The person in this role will be responsible for completing the mechanical portion of large capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical engineering field They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and manage the installation, commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. This support is needed starting immediately and currently does not have a defined end date. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis based on the investment plan and loading on the curing engineering team. The projects assigned will primarily focus in our curing process areas in the plant but could also contribute to projects in tire building and after cure process areas. 

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Provide Mechanical Engineering design for assigned projects including solid models, mechanical detail drawings, layout drawings, component specification, and bill of materials. 
    • Respect Michelin mechanical design standards in all equipment designs. 
    • Create Budgetary Estimates and Bid Packages on assigned projects. 
    • Create project documentation:  mechanical designs, technical offer, safety risk assessment, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals. 
    • Facilitate the order of equipment and materials for assigned projects. 
    • Provide equipment acceptance inspections on equipment that comes into the plant. 
    • Provide Management of mechanical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through Start-up and Commissioning. 
    • Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers, other engineers, and suppliers to complete equipment acceptance criteria.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. 
    • Preferred 4-6 years of Engineering Experience. 
    • Willing to travel 30% domestic and some international (primarily North America). 
    • Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3D-CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD is also a plus. 
    • Experience with Dossier document management systems required, TeamCenter is preferred. 
    • Managing correction of equipment non-conformities and acceptance.
    • Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred, but not required.  Specific experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB is a plus.
