  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:  Coordinates the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production schedules; quality standards and on-time delivery metrics. Monitors the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production goals are met and resources are used efficiently. Supervises staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed, and all machines and equipment are operated safely.  Ensure new workers are trained in the organization's operating procedures and standards. Prepares production reports and reviews with a cross functional team providing production information and identifies any issues to be resolved.

    NOTE:  Assigned location will be Mfg. Services Controls and will be required to move to various areas based on business need.  

     

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensures safety and housekeeping of the assigned area and that all employees meet company established safety and quality requirements.
    • Cross-train all personnel in your departments, and other areas of the organization.
    • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Responsible for maintaining acceptable quality levels for all assigned products.
    • Ensure operators receive required training and periodically evaluates employees to ensure they are meeting production standards and metrics.
    • Organize work flow and makes corrections to ensure production plan is achieved.
    • Assures that established policy, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
    • Distributes department status reports and reviews with a cross functional team.
    • Comprehends product specifications and other required documentation assigned.
    • Reports any process and/or equipment problems.
    • Troubleshoots problems as needed.

     

    Required Experience

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Requires overall knowledge of all equipment, tooling, and processes required for the production of product.
    • Ability to perform and understand the operations in the assigned department with the knowledge to ensure employees are properly trained in production, quality and safety. 
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints to the extent required to instruct production personnel with adequate clarity and detail.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    EDUCATIONS:

    • Minimum Level: Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience
    • Preferred Level: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience

     EXPERIENCE:

    • 7 – 10 years experience in a supervisory managing a fast pace manufacturing environment
    • Preferred Level: 4 years +

     

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

    • Certified Six Sigma Belt preferred
