The Staff Accountant will be responsible for accuracy of the general ledger and financial transactions as they relate to domestic and international reserve funds and the Captive insurance company. This position will also perform periodic evaluations of the business's financial condition and project year end financial results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently and accurately prepare payments to vendors
• Assemble, create and reconcile month end accounting entries
• Work with external vendors to properly record monthly transactions and discrepancies if needed
• Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, to include claim losses, claim handling charges, general and administrative expenses and charges to subsidiaries for various lines of business
• Prepare and analyze financial status of reserve funds and Captive
• Complete various long and short-term projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance required
• Two (2) years or more of accounting experience required
• PeopleSoft A/P and G/L experience required
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial systems preferred
