    Job Description

    The Team Manager in the Customs Development team will manage an agile team responsible for a legacy application, CFIT, and will participate in defining and applying managed services within the development team. CFIT is a core business application designed to facilitate customs and government agency filings, providing:

    • A consistent level of service and data to our customers,
    • Operational efficiency that is aligned with our business processes,
    • Comprehensive compliance with governmental agencies and customer requirements ,

    The Team Manager is responsible for coaching and mentoring their team members, supporting their growth, and ensuring they have the tools and training necessary to perform their job. The Team Manager is responsible for ensuring their team understands expectations and how their work is tied to the Operational Experience Portfolio performance. The Team Manager is responsible for working closely with the business to understand and prioritize work coming into the team. The Team Manager will manage enterprise risk, provider relationships and/or assets as required by the Portfolio Leader.

    The Team Manager will report into the Senior Manager of the Customs Development Team and work directly with the program leadership and product management, as well as stakeholders across the company.

    • Deliver tangible business value through execution of a Portfolio's initiatives, programs and projects
    • Deliver continuous improvement across IS operational responsibilities with measurable outcomes
    • Ensure their people understand how their work is tied to outcomes

    This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factors
    • Proven experience as a logistics and technology oriented leader
    • Strong leadership, management, financial, communication and execution capabilities
    • Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator and able to provide clarity around complex topics
    • Experience with DevSecOps, Lean, Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    • Assertive personality, interpersonal, action and outcome driven leadership
    • Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor and motivate
    • Ability to promote autonomy, mastery and purpose, through empowerment and creating leaders

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior team management experience
    • Prior Customs Brokerage experience through development and/or operational experience
    • Prior experience working on software development teams

    Additional Information

    Expected base salary: $95,000 to $180,000
