We are primarily a marine engineering firm specializing in rotating machinery and naval hull, mechanical & electrical systems on commercial vessels, naval ships and submarines. We perform in-place repairs of critical shipboard rotating machinery such as motors, generators and turbines. We provide in-service engineering for most shipboard hull, mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems such as deck machinery, air conditioning, switchboards, and hydraulic systems. Amee Bay is also expert at the complexities of installation support onboard vessels in an industrial environment. As with many engineering activities, our corporate experience and promise of future performance is embodied in our talented workforce. We have over 140 engineers, technicians and analysts with more than 1,500 years of combined technical knowledge that spans the entire range of propulsion, hull, mechanical, electrical and auxiliary systems found on board marine vessels and naval ships. Our personnel have expertise and capabilities comparable to Navy shipyard tiger teams and OEM technical agents. Position Overview: This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager/NDT Level III, performing Non-destructive Tests and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written procedures and recording results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up inspections, coordinate calibrations and interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications. The candidate will be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and will exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians. Level II Technicians organize and report results of NDT. Position Responsibilities: * Set up inspection equipment and maintain calibration of nondestructive testing equipment. * Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection. * Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. * Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results. * Organize and report test results. * Perform specialized inspections, when required. Instruct and supervise others on occasion. * Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management. * Interface daily with the project manager regarding work priorities and progress of projects. * Work closely with project manager to identify and remove obstacles. * Actively participate in organizational and work-site safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc. * May be required to travel to work at locations other than work permanently assigned office location. Position Requirements: US Citizen High School Diploma or Equivilent Valid US Drivers License Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret clearance OSHA 10 or higher preferred NDT Level II Certification (VT, PT) UT, RT, Certification are a plus. Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections. Minimum two (2)years' experience Employee would be expected to be take and pass the Amee Bay nondestructive test certification examinations for Visual Testing and Penetrant Testing Inspection methods. Once certified as an Amee Bay NDT Level II inspector, duties would include in shop and on ship NDT inspections, Quality Assurance/Safety surveillance, production support. Must be able to travel up to 25% Required Competencies: Technology -understand the application of the tools at hand to maximize the efficiency and quality of inspections. Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation, and color vision. Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 60 lbs. Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft. Work extended hours and standing for extended periods of time. Work in both cold and hot climates. Work in or near industrial hazards. This position is for continuous active recruitment.
