    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under general direction, this position is a high-level, project-management position. The incumbent will provide overall management of large and complex maintenance projects for specific technical areas to ensure organizational needs are met; supervises project progress, forecasts future needs, and interacts with leadership at the top level. The incumbent will need sound knowledge of heavy-duty trailer maintenance and repairs in the transportation industry.

    The incumbent will need sound knowledge of heavy-duty trailer specifications including, but not limited to, dry vans, refrigerated, bulk (both liquid and dry), flat beds, and dump trailers (both frameless and frame).

    This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS, CANDIDATES SUBJECT TO APPROVAL

    Applicants can be considered for Manager I, Manager II, or Sr Maintenance Operations Manager depending on verified years of experience and position availability.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Utilize computer systems and programs to provide overall management for large and complex construction projects to ensure organizational needs are met; supervises project progress
    • Maintain the company's safety culture by promoting a safe work environment in compliance with federal and state regulations
    • Manage records and maintain reporting; present information on a regular cadence to maintenance leadership
    • Assist management with forecasting future department needs and opportunities
    • Utilize materials, facilities and equipment; oversee project costs and staff performance
    • Collaborate with internal and/or external customers or vendors to determine project requirements to ensure that all project goals are being addressed
    • May develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, status reports and customer submittals to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
    • Interpret equipment quote sheets from multiple suppliers
    • Provide purchasing and specification recommendations
    • Understand axle weight ratings and how to interpret state over dimension regulations
    • Travel as needed for routine and specialty equipment inspections, 20% to 35% travel time
    • Provide feedback to JBHT management and suppliers on quality items found during production process
    • Process and manage change order requests
    • Document and track identified manufacturing issues
    • Document and track test projects
    • Provide documentation for the Technician TV broadcast as needed
    • Provide support in equipment related meetings such as but not limited to Manufacturer, Specifications, and Aging Campaign meetings
    • Random reporting and presentations in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience in management and/or leadership
    • Posses a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per JBH standards.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Sound knowledge of heavy-duty trailer maintenance and repairs in the transportation industry.
    • Sound knowledge of heavy-duty trailer specifications including, but not limited to, dry vans, refrigerated, bulk (both liquid and dry), flat beds, and dump trailers (both frameless and frame).
    • Communication skills verbal and written with the ability to negotiate with suppliers.
    • Comfortable with engaging in all areas of communication with suppliers to create new relationships and maintain and improve existing relationships.
    • Ability to document information and make quick decisions
    • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
    • Ability to make sound financial decisions
    • Ability to run queries, utilize SQL, and perform basic analytics
