Department Overview The Corporate Real Estate team is composed of Planning and Development (formally called Design and construction) and Airport Affairs. These two teams work together to secure lease spaces and manage all major construction and renovation projects at our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. Job overview and responsibilities The architectural designer/drafter intern will provide assistance to the Aviation Planning team by working on updates to and maintenance of current document databases and design standards libraries, including details for millwork, signage, gate services, ticket lobbies, etc. The candidate will work on multiple phases of projects often assisting multiple departments within the Corporate Real Estate group. Under general supervision, Intern works from the design of others and performs routine architectural assignments. Assignments may include higher-level aviation planning work for training/development purposes. It is essential for the Intern candidate to demonstrate an eagerness and willingness to learn. Tasks include: * Supports the Manager Aviation Planning and Sr. Manager Design Standards and Planning in their roles within the Planning and Development organization. * Maintain all databases associated with as-built drawings, gate layouts, and other planning documents. * Create and update all standard documents needed to support the development of specific airport facilities required to support our customers. * Prepare the technical drawings for aviation related projects in support of the Aviation planner, including gate layouts. * Assist the airport affairs team with assessing new station space needs. Required * Current junior in process of obtaining Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Aviation Planning, Design, or Architecture. * Experience with AutoCad, Revit, Civil2D/3D and/or GIS applications. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future * Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications * Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position Preferred * Project management experience.
