    Safe and efficient aircraft operations through direction, coordination, observation, and hands-on assistance with each aircraft handling operation.  Ensures all duties performed by assigned personnel are completed in the most efficient and professional manner including, but not limited to:  Loading and unloading of aircraft, vehicles and freight/mail containers (ULDs/APCs, etc.).  Build-up, break-down, and sort of freight, mail, and baggage, as applicable.   Safe and proper acceptance, handling and transfer of freight, mail and baggage, as applicable. Ensure and verify security and integrity of all freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.  Ensure proper marshalling signals for aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations, as directed.  Ensure proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable.  Ensure calculation and/or verification of correct weights, and destination/origination labels tags.  Safe and proper operation of GSE and other equipment, as trained and certified.  

     

    Required Skills

    Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

     Ability to drive all cargo handling equipment.

     Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight hour shift.

     Attend all meetings and complete all training and certification, as required by WFS, customer, airport, and all applicable government agencies.

     Adhere to all airport and facility regulations regarding proper security and identification procedures, including correct escort and security identification badge/challenge responsibilities. 

     Comply with all safety regulations, methods, and procedures required by WFS, customers, airport, and all applicable government agencies. 

     Reports to work on a regular and timely basis, “No Call – No Show” and arriving after scheduled time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.  All exceptions must be approved and documented by Supervisor.  Availability to work all shifts, including, but not limited to, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Required Experience

    Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Computer familiarity necessary.  Demonstrates qualities of initiative.  Must be able to lift 50 to 70 pounds (31.9kg). Ability to work weekends (ie. Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off.  Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.  May be necessary to speak other language(s), in addition to English, depending on customer contract. Must be able to maintain airport authority access, and be able to work scheduled shifts. Must be able to follow direction and work safely. May be necessary to be able to speak other languages depending on contract.  If CDL is required, then the position is subject to random Department of Transportation (DOT) drug testing.
