  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The trainer is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees. The training area is one of constant change. This position must be able to react positively to these developments and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training targeted to both new and existing employees. Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs to enhance performance for all employees. Assesses property-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. Conducts needs assessment and development instruments for instructional assignments. Coordinates training schedules and assists in the evaluation of applicable outside training resources. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization. Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the Human Resources staff.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

    • Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of LM.

    • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

    • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstrations models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. The training manuals should include: course content, visual charts, videotapes, slides, ect. Types initial and/or final drafts of manuals.

    • Prepares training videotapes and/or films: maintains library of video and film training aids. Schedules training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility setup, audiovisual setup and employee notification.

    • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training.

    • Assists in the development of higher skills from within the existing workforce. Develops trainer development programs and coaches others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.

    • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modifies programs as needed. Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training. Responds on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.

    • Supports contractor recruiting and the training of locations manager on recruiting. To include conducting in depth contractor interviews as well as a mastery of all paperwork within the contractor package.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of MS Office to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
    • Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
    • Excellent technical writing skills for documentation, development, implementation, and maintenance of procedure and process.
    • Ability to create a momentum and foster organizational change.
    • Ability to read and interpret documentation, development, implementation and maintenance of procedure and process. Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to develop and proof training materials.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
    • Comfortable communication with all level of management and employees.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing, analyzing and measuring instructional training programs.
