    Job Description

    Werner is looking for a dynamic Human Resources leader with experience in a variety of personnel-related functions within the organization. This role will drive high-impact, people-focused strategic initiatives to foster continued growth and create alignment with the organization’s core values and business goals. This position contributes to strategic human resource planning and execution to provide the organization with the best talent available and to position the Company as an employer of choice. The role will have connectivity to key functional areas including talent acquisition, employee relations, HR program administration and benefit administration.  The ideal candidate will bring functional knowledge of and experience with a variety of Human Resources-related functions, responsibilities and best practices.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Develop and inspire a highly intentional and professional Talent Acquisition team focused on innovative and forward-looking solutions.
    • Drive talent acquisition processes in collaboration and alignment with senior leadership and business goals and needs, create and leverage employment branding for the Company that demonstrates the core values, vision and growth potential to candidates.
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team to build robust and creative talent pipelines that tap into targeted universities, companies, LinkedIn groups, professional associations and networking opportunities, leveraging social media, talent communities and other emerging technologies and trends.
    • Identify key performance indicators for the organization's HR function; assess the success based on these metrics and identify opportunities for improving and continued development.
    • Collaborate with and provide insight and guidance to Employee Relations team in the execution of performance management steps and investigation and resolution of issues or complaints, in collaboration with departmental leadership.
    • Develop and inspire Werner’s benefits team in order to provide associates with competitive and cost-effective benefit offerings and to facilitate a positive employee experience in any interactions or issues encountered with benefit providers.
    • Ensure effective administration of all benefit plans in compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Consider new products and innovative ideas in the marketplace as necessary.
    • Establish and oversee maintenance of effective and competitive compensation strategies and programs.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources management/leadership experience, with meaningful experience in creating and implementing company-wide HR Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources management/leadership experience, with meaningful experience in creating and implementing company-wide HR
    • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Design, Business, HR or another relevant field; Masters and appropriate HR certifications are a plus.
    • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent intrapersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations and information with professionalism
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
