    Job Description

    ABOUT DESIGN @ WISH

We’re a tight-knit design team whose culture is chill, fun, and inclusive. We recognize that auto-layout, the 8-pixel grid, and emojis are our friends, and use each of these regularly. Our virtual team bonding events include watching movies together, playing Telephone Pictionary, and holding a cocktail mixing workshop.

As a team of remote research-based designers, we leverage experiment results and insights to release new features and products that provide economic empowerment for 100 million users worldwide, and each designer has the opportunity to lead individual projects from ideation through execution.

    ABOUT THE TEAM

The Consumer Growth team is a cross-functional product team that serves over 100 million customers globally. We’re well-positioned to generate impact across the entire customer shopping journey, by improving all parts of the buyer funnel from organic acquisition to onboarding and activation, followed by retention and referrals.

We frequently collaborate together by examining data to identify assumptions, brainstorming and ideating on potential experiments and testing them rigorously to improve overall business growth and user experience.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help us optimize and set the standard for a seamless and positive customer experience.

    • YOU’RE INSIGHTS-DRIVEN. You welcome assumptions with data-driven insights. Whether qualitative or quantitative, you appreciate the balance of both to help you feel confident in your decision making.

      • Your SOFT SKILLS of having an analytical mind always encourages you to find underlying truths and assumptions in data, whether it’s by analyzing a chart of weekly site activity or synthesizing survey responses.

      • Your HARD SKILLS consist of taking a scientific method towards conducting experiments — by setting goals, defining a hypothesis, testing solutions with customer segments & identifying success.

    • YOU’RE CURIOSITY-DRIVEN. You’re someone with endless curiosity, always asking questions about data, and turning them into ideas to experiment and help validate your many assumptions.

      • Your SOFT SKILLS are finding the right questions to ask to help define an  insights-backed hypothesis. You also enjoy facilitating engaging & productive brainstorming sessions with your team to test against your assumptions.

      • Your HARD SKILLS are utilizing a design system and knowledge of UX patterns, to produce mockups and prototypes that solve customer-focused problems. Our Design team collaborates together in Figma.

    • YOU’RE IMPACT-DRIVEN. You feel the most challenged when there’s a huge task ahead of you. Your growth-mindset enables you to welcome any said challenge. Being able to make an impact at a great scale is what keeps you going.

      • Your SOFT SKILLS are the need to constantly grow and develop both yourself and your teammates with motivation and excitement to tackle big challenges.

      • Your HARD SKILLS of crafting elegant solutions, swiftly and efficiently, to visualize big and small bets often is a huge motivating factor for your team.

    • YOU’RE USER-DRIVEN. You prioritize customers in every decision. You know that it’s a great opportunity to make a huge business impact, but you can’t do it without making sure the overall customer experience is left in a better state than you first found it.

      • Your SOFT SKILLS are advocating for the user to ensure that shoppers on Wish succeed on our marketplace, thus fulfilling our mission: To make affordable shopping accessible for everyone.

      • Your HARD SKILLS are helping to plan and conduct user interviews and research sessions with different audiences, to test your designs and prototypes.
